about

Every wednesday evening, at Ramna Park in Dhaka, Saymon Zakaria, founder of Vabnagar Foundation, organises a gather called Sadhusongo, popular in Baul culture in Bangladesh and West Bengal. The aim of the Sadhusongo is to gather Bauls and scholars in order to preserve the Baul philosophy.

These lectures are also accompagnied by folk songs usually written by their ancester like Lalon Shah, Hason Raja and others influent Baul singers. The song expresses the constant urge among the bauls to elevate their life from materialism to spirituality.
